Tiverton C.C. was founded in 1979. Originally established to play friendlies against other local sides, the team played at The Rugby Club and Bickleigh. We found more permanent premises at Tiverton School next to the Tennis Club in Bolham Road in 1981.
In 1988, we joined the East Devon League and later moved to the then East Devon College field next door in 1990. Following re-organisation, we joined the Devon League in 2001. Increases in ground rent meant we had to move to Blundells May Field to play in 2003.
A merger with Bickleigh C.C. followed in 2004 and we were briefly known as Tiverton Exe Valley. This enabled the club to enter a 2nd Xl in the Devon League and have a Sunday team in the North Devon League. The lst Xl reached C Division in the Devon League in 2008.
Recent developments have seen players leave, separation from Bickleigh CC and another move, this time to Culmstock CC (2011), and the club has dropped to F Division of the Devon League.
In order to address the issues of an ageing team and lack of a permanent home, a partnership with Tiverton High School has started. Facilities and premises will be shared and cricket will be played and promoted through the school, with Tiverton CC returning to the Bolham Road after an 11 year absence.
